house warming and eternity

At last had house warming with friends. We had a wonderful time together, singing and having good food to our hearts' content. Thank God for the precious moments! Life is short,
soon these happy times shall become our memory. Our youth and vitality will no longer last, however, we have new hope as Christians.

Watoto Children's Choir

Last night I went to a concert with my sister. It was given by a group of children from Africa living in a ministry called Watoto's village. They were the orphans of Aids patients. Although they live in a poor country, they are fatherless and motherless, they are surrounded by wars and terrors, there is hope brought to them by Christ's love. Their song is full of energy and joy. We dance and sing with them and shared their vision. I like to listen to them speaking, in a special accent. They showed confidence and clearly express themselves. There is a part when the children told us one by one their dreams. Many of them hope to become doctors, pilots, teacher

太阳打翻了,金紅霞流滿西天;
月亮打翻了,白水銀一直淌到我床前;
清香打翻了,散成一隊隊的风;

Meditation on Jesus

Just before Jesus went for crucification,
he goes to a place called Kesimany with
his 3 disciples, John, James and Peter to
pray. There he meditates what is going to
happened to him and his heart is filled
with anguish and anxiety. Sweat come down
from his head and he frowns hard in pain,
yet he pray to God that His will be done
on him. His 3 disciples began to doze into
sleep while praying. Jesus come to them 3
times and see that they cannot keep their
eyes open. Though he know that they shall
betray and desert Him soon, he still asked
them gently to keep awake and pray with
him. After that He knows that the time for His
biggest mission on earth has come and He
accepted it with peace. The excessive
demand in work from time to time due to my
limitations and weakness cause me a lot of
anguish and anxiety too. To me, the stress
of work,family, interpersonal conflicts is
the cross I need to bear now. The disciple
respond to Jesus's situation with praying
.However, their flesh is weak and they
frequently cannot resist from dozing off.
So how are we able to get close to Jesus
in order to know Him and walk with him? My
interpretation is that We need to continue
to bear the cross with our best effort and
pray for each other.

Flower exhibition in Victoria park

This year's theme flower is Geranium. There are many different stalls. One particular spot exhibits herbal medicine that are possibly useful for treating cancer. A lot of space is used for artistic exhibitions. I stopped in one station where there are many cactus. Some are very chubby indeed. Most of the cactus is put in pot with pebbles . One pot of cactus looks like a piece of tumor . Another one is like being cut out from stone. I also saw a peculiar plant which can eat insects. It grow on tree trunks and need to be showered often.

twelve steps towards abstinence

1.we admitted we were powerless over addiction, that our lives had become unmanageable.
2 came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity
3. make a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him
4. make a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves
5.admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs
6. were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character
7. humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.
8. make a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.
9made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others
10 continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.
11.Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.
12Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of the steps, we tried to carry this message to addicts and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

meditation

Come and fill me up
(by Sandy Yu)

I humbly come to seek Your face,
come and fill me up,
come fill me up.
I long for Your dwelling place,
cleanse me from my sin,
come fill me up.

Jesus, my Lord, Jesus, my King,
Your precious blood washes me.
Jesus, my joy; Jesus my peace.
Grace flows down and covers me.

reading

Got loads of paper to read now. Really don't know how the writer is able write such a long paper, each 9-10 pages! Is it cost-effective to write such a long essay in order to convey a short message? How "cruel" it is to write more than 4 pages in an article! Protest! Protest! Well, just kidding. Work is work, still need to spare time for the reading. Dear Good Lord, please grant me patience to finish the work.

rosemary

I 've got a bottle of rosemary which I do not know how to use. Just thinking of throwing it way. Out of curiosity, I search the internet and found the following information:

Rosemary has a very old reputation for improving memory, and has been used as a symbol for remembrance (as in worn during weddings, war commemorations and funerals) in Europe, probably as a result of this reputation. Students in ancient Greece are reported to have worn sprigs of rosemary in their hair while studying for exams to improve their memory, and mourners would throw it into graves as a symbol of remembrance for the dead. In Shakespeare's Hamlet, Ophelia says, "There's rosemary, that's for remembrance".
Rosemary and its constituents carnosol and ursolic acid have been shown to inhibit the growth of skin tumors and to provide a natural anti-oxidant protection against skin cancer and photodamage. [citation needed]Don Quixote (Chapter XVII, 1st volume) mixes it in its recipe of the miraculous balm of Fierabras with revolting results.

Is this true? Well there is two thing I learn from this : 1.the behaviour of Greece is quite similar to Japanese who also wear a cloth on their head when they prepare for examination. 2.I can keep the bottle
